Cleaning Agents for Spot Removal
Detergent Solution
Solution of 1 teaspoon (5ml) of approved wool detergent with 1 teaspoon of white vinegar and 1 litre of warm water
Laundry Detergent (non-biological)
One teaspoon in 250mls of warm water
Vinegar Solution
Mix 1/3 cup of white vinegar with 2/3 cup of water.
Solvent
A dry cleaning solvent eg. White spirits. (Use on dry carpet only)
Spot and Spill Removal
Acting quickly is the key to success when anything is dropped or spilled. Always have the necessary cleaning material at hand. Follow the spotting chat guidlines or refer or refer to a qualified professional for help.
Vacuuming
The most important maintenance step is proper vacuuming. Regular and thorough at least once a week and more often in heavy traffic areas will remove soils and dirt particles before they become embedded into the pile of the carpet. Remember you cannot over-vacuum and vacuuming should begin the day the carpet is installed. Frequent vacuuming is a wool carpets best friend.
