In the unregulated carpet cleaning industry anyone can operate a carpet cleaning business without any recognised training and without any particular skills set. Many of these unqualified and unskilled carpet cleaners offer a cheaper price to gain entry into your home or business, of course, the cheaper the price, the less time they are able to spend on your carpets, this in turn leads to a lower standard in the finished result.

Vacuuming should be carried out at least twice a week to remove dry soils which are located on top or lightly imbedded in the carpet pile; this should be carried out using a good quality vacuum with a powerhead. (Beware of your 100% woollen loop pile carpets as these may become hairy from a powerhead. We recommend using a standard vacuum foot without a powerhead for these installations)
Regular spot cleaning should be carried out on minor spills using only a high quality spot cleaning solution, it is very important to stay away from the retail spot cleaners sold in supermarkets as these can do more harm than good. (See our do it yourself spot cleaning guide) Regular spot cleaning will allow you to try and remove the minor stains while they are fresh and have not set in the carpet.
Regular professional cleaning should be undertaken at least once a year to remove the heavily imbedded soils, oily residues and more serious stains. Ideally the carpet should be cleaned to the Australian Standard AS/NZ S:3733-1995.
A major factor in the reduced lifespan of your carpet are minor damages such as carpets becoming stretched, joins starting to fray, carpets starting to come away from walls etc. These issues can all be solved by minor repairs which will dramatically increase the life of your carpets for a fraction of the cost of a major replacement.

Steam cleaning is what we have built our business on since the company was founded back in 1978. Using the best of truck mount machinery and cutting edge carpet cleaning detergents to achieve the results that our customers have come to expect.
Pre-vacuuming of the carpets is a very important stage of the carpet cleaning which is generally carried out by the client unless they specifically ask for us to do this for them. Carpet soils are generally made up by 70% dry soils which readily vacuum out using a powerful vacuum cleaner with power head and a correct vacuuming technique, having this stage of the cleaning done incorrectly can impede on the cleaning results and therefore we highly recommend that you request your carpets be pre vacuumed by our qualified technician.
Our standard clean (Bronze Clean) which is suited to lightly soiled carpets which just require a yearly freshen up consists of applying a carpet cleaning detergent through a hydro-force sprayer which delivers the detergent hot from the truck mount to your carpets allowing for the oils and stains to soften allowing for better penetration and solubilisation of the detergent. We then allow the detergent to dwell (soak) on the carpet before steam cleaning is carried out rinsing away the detergent residues along with the soils and oils.
Our heavy duty steam clean (Silver clean) is suited to soiled carpets which need that extra effort to break down the soils and oils before steam cleaning; the cleaning process consists of the 'Bronze Clean' however we put an additional stage in between the pre spray and the steam clean called agitation; this involved using a rotary floor polisher with a carpet brush to scrub the detergent through the carpet allowing for maximum penetration and solubilisation of the soils and oils before the steam cleaning process is carried out.
Cleaning to the Australian Standard AS/NZ3733 -1995 (Gold Clean) requires that all three above stages are carried out together which will include pre vacuuming, agitation and steam cleaning. This is the best restoration clean your carpets can receive; removing the most amount of soils and stains from your carpet and preventing your carpets from soiling up from unwanted oils and residues remaining deep in the pile.

The technology in carpet cleaning is changing at a rapid pace due to the worlds concerns with environmental impact. The Mor-Clean is a low moisture carpet cleaning system which uses up to 85% less water than conventional steam cleaning, has no waste water to dispose of and uses a fraction of the energy to power the machinery.
This technology differs greatly compared to removing the soils via hot water extraction or by transfer of the soils onto the bonnet pads of conventional 'dry cleaning' methods.
Once again Mor-Clean relies heavily on a thorough pre vacuum to remove the dry soils from the carpet which is the most crucial stage of the mor-clean. Once this has been done the Mor-Clean solution is applied to the carpets using an electric sprayer and immediately dispersed through the carpet using rotary agitation using the correct brush/pad combination for maximum cleaning efficiency. Using Nano technology the detergent penetrates the remaining soils and oils encapsulating these into a slippery polymer which is left behind and will continue to encase and solidify for the next 24 - 48hrs. The remaining soils now broken down into particles are not visible to the eye will then be suspended in the polymer and readily vacuum out on the next scheduled vacuum.

These days many carpets are protected by the factory in the construction of your new carpets. These protections are baked on during the manufacturing process giving the protection excellent durability which will be long lasting on your carpet. As these protections begin to wear off it is advised to reapply a protection to your carpets to give the factory protection a boost in its ability to guard against heavy soiling and stains.
Protection is applied once the carpets have been thoroughly cleaned. When applied this product adds a microscopic layer of polymer to the carpet. The carpet protection will assist in repelling stains from the carpet to ensure an easier and more affective clean up should the need arise.
